08.08.08 – Social Change launches “REAL” at Paris/J-Live show

by Social Change

On the 08.08.08 Adelaide underground Social Change released the new single “REAL” as a free download, also launching it live at the HQ complex in support of U.S Hip Hop legends Paris and J-Live. The track features Social Change on the verses, Funkwig on production, DJ Snair on the ones and twos, with good ol’ friend The Expressionist on the hook.

The night was hosted by Pohetikut, and had locals Track and Verse open up playing tracks off their CD which has been earning them a reputation around Adelaide. Then Social Change took to the stage with Dialect on mic no. 2 and together they ran thru songs from the Social Change E.P as well as new tracks from the anticipated full length Social Change album.

The highlights were tracks “First Class Lyrics” followed by “REAL” which saw the Expressionist coming out on stage for a rap before they launched the new single. The crowd responded well to the new track, but the jam with Funkwig and Snair got everyone going as usual. The Social Change performance finished with “LIFTED” which Social Change will be releasing a video clip for very soon.

After Social Change was BuckCity, who seemed to bring his own flava to the night, which was really all about Paris (and the Social Change single of course haha!) So after BuckCity came J-Live, who to much disappointment, did not appreciate the little crowd response he was receiving, and walked off stage. He has played a few really great shows here so it was sad to see. Next came T-KASH who seems to be well underrated, and who did a really good job warming things up for Paris.

Paris definitely did a good job, and the crowd was vibing off his classics. All in all the show went well. A few more heads could have gone a long way, but C-Rayz dropping off the bill didn’t do the night any favours. Anyways, get ya self a free download of the new Social Change track “REAL” now…

Get It! Got It! Good!

Peace
